Police are investigating after a woman was reportedly assaulted after knocking on the windscreen of a car parked outside her home.
The alleged assault took place in High Street, Somersham, at about 7pm on March 8.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “A lady walking home from visiting friends knocked on the windscreen of a car that was parked on double yellow lines outside her house and as she entered the gate to her garden she noticed a man getting out of the passenger side of the car.
“She was struck and fell to the ground, sustaining bruises and grazing to her head and left side. It is assumed that the assailant was the person from the car.”
The spokesman added that house-to-house enquiries and other investigations into the incident were under way. Anyone with information should contact officers on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
