OFFICERS are no longer investigating an assault in a St Ives alleyway.

An investigation was launched after an 18-year-old said that a group attacked him with a makeshift blowtorch while he was walking between Warner’s Park and Pig Lane.

After further enquiries, the investigation has been dropped.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “We apologise if this caused any alarm but the circulation was sent on the information police were given after the incident was reported.”
