More than 200 pupils at a primary school in Huntingdon put on their running shoes for a charity fun run.

Cromwell Academy, in Hinchingbrooke Park, played host to the one-mile fun run, raising money for Hunts Community Cancer Network, last Thursday.

Teachers and support staff were also involved along with members of Team Bex, set up in support of Huntingdon mum Rebecca Griffiths, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2014.

The event raised hundreds of pounds and Cromwell Academy head teacher Stephanie Baldwin, praised the children’s effort and attitude.

She said: “It was a lovely day to go running and the children were absolutely brilliant. It taught them all about the importance of community, of staying fit and of helping others.”
