Staff and children at Offord Pre-school in Offord D’Arcy are celebrating after the facility was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted inspectors.

The school was bought by Jane Roberts in September 2016 and had a new purpose-built building installed in 2017. It is managed by Joanne Corbishley.

Set in the grounds of the village primary school, the pre-school has the use of the school’s field and orchard for forest school activities and is open for children from Offord as well as the surrounding area.

In its report, Ofsted inspectors noted: “Children thoroughly enjoy coming to the pre-school. Staff are good role models who create a calm and safe environment. They regularly praise children’s efforts and achievements. This helps children to develop good levels of self-esteem.”

Ms Roberts said: “I am very proud of the Offord Pre-school team, who work very hard to provide exceptional care and education for the children who attend resulting in the inspector making some very positive comments about our setting. We try really hard to make sure each child looks forward to coming to pre-school and develops at a pace that is right for them.”
