Shops in Huntingdon town centre faced disruption on Saturday morning due to a power cut.

About 600 properties were affected by the three-hour electricity outage from 8.20am.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “Engineers worked quickly and as safely as possible to restore power to the High Street area of Huntingdon, following a fault on the electricity network system.

“At around 8.20am on Saturday, 601 Customers would have seen an interruption of power. This was restored in stages with all supplies back on at around 11.25am.

“We understand how difficult it is to be without power and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
