A potential deal to move the village post office has fallen through.
Post Office Ltd has confirmed an interested party has withdrawn its offer to run the service and the opportunity will be re-advertised on its website.
Dave Shaw, who currently runs the High Street branch, handed in his resignation in January as the two business options, offered to him as part of the Post Office’s modernisation plan, were not deemed viable.
A Post Office spokesman said: “Customers should be assured that the Post Office is committed to maintaining a service in Brampton and will work hard to ensure this. If safeguarding services in the area involves a relocation, that would be subject to a public consultation.”
