Ben was one of more than 80 entrants who took part in the annual show, which has been running for more than 100 years. Classes for the childrens and teenage section included vegetable monsters, a bread hedgehog, and three fingers of shortbread. Helen Foster was crowned winner of the teenage section (12-16) and Charlotte Watson and Ed Maynard, joint winners of the childrens cup (for children aged up to 11). Meanwhile the adults competed for points and prizes in the vegetables, fruit, flowers, handicrafts, and home produce section. Scooping five cups between them were husband and wife Sue and Roger Barber. Sue won the Ladies Cup and Roger won the Ann Howard Cup for the most points in the show, the Royal British Legion Cup for the most points in the vegetable and fruit sections, the Barry Freeman Cup for the overall best exhibit and the WI Cup. Organiser and committee chairman Paula Stock said: It was good. We never know what to expect. INFORMATION: New committee members will be needed from next year.
