Sue Sharpe, who has manned the crossing at Eynesbury Church of England School for almost 31 years, was presented with cards, flowers and presents during a special school assembly on May 26 - her last day in the job. Pupils and parents also handed her flowers and cards on Thursday afternoon as she saw pupils across the road for the last time.Sue, who is 65, and also a dinner lady at the school in Montague Street, said: It has been fantastic, I have had lots of hugs and everyone has been so kind. And talking about her 30, plus years in the job, she added: I have loved every minute of it. The children brighten my day and getting to know the mums and dads as well has been wonderful. Sue has been doing the job for so long that she has helped the second generation of some families to cross the road. She now plans to put her feet up for a while and have a holiday.
