Police have warned Christmas shoppers to be on their guard for purse and bag thieves in Huntingdon.
PCSO Andrew Goodwin said that when there were more people in the town centre, historically there had been an increase in purse or bag thefts.
He added: “A lot of this is due to handbags or baby bags being left on push chairs or trolleys whilst the owner is looking at products, or otherwise occupied. If you have your bag on a trolley try to make sure it is zipped and closed at all times.”
