Police in Bedfordshire have issued a warning about what they described as the “increased likelihood of raves” over the weekend.

Officers are appealing to landowners and rural businesses across the county to be vigilant about any suspicious activity and also advised taking some precautions.

The force issued a warning notice that read: "There is an increased likelihood of raves this weekend.

"Bedfordshire Police would like to remind all owners of land and rural businesses to check their property and ensure that all buildings and gates are locked over the weekend period. If it is not possible to secure land with a gate, it is suggested that entrances are blocked temporarily to prevent unwanted vehicle access.

Should you find any signs of suspicious activity or see vehicles arriving, please contact the police by dialling 101.

Your support and involvement is vital in preventing instances of public nuisance from occurring."

Officers have also asked neighbours, land owners and farmers to spread the word in the farming and rural community.
