POLICE in St Neots have launched a crackdown on underage drinking and anti-social behaviour at the town’s public parks and play areas.
Officers will be carrying out patrols at the Riverside and Priory parks after reports of underage drinking.
The clampdown will see alcohol confiscated from underage drinkers, their parents informed and enquiries into where they were sold the alcohol, or who provided them with the drink will be made.
PC Chris Bockham said: “We want to send a clear message that it is not acceptable for underage youths to be drinking and causing disorder in public areas.
“We are also targeting those who are breaking the law by supplying these children with alcohol.
“I would urge parents to ask themselves if they know where their children are and what they’re doing.
