Police have launched an investigation after thieves stripped a large section of lead from the roof of a church.
The thieves targeted St Andrew’s Church, in Swavesey, near Fenstanton, sometime between 9pm, on April 19, and 7.30pm on April 21.
An area of lead approximately 30-35 square metres was stolen from the roof above the chancel.
According to police, it is the second time the church was victim to lead theft, following an incident in May 2015.
A police spokesman said: “Patrols are being increased in the area and we urge residents to report any suspicious activity to police.”
