POLICE investigating a hit-and-run in Godmanchester have released details of the car they are looking for.
Two 18-year-old girls were injured after a car collided with them on a pedestrian crossing in The Avenue, at 6.45pm on Friday (November 5).
The vehicle, a small red hatchback, made no attempt to stop at the red light and drove off after the collision. The victims were treated for cuts and bruises.
Tests on a piece of debris recovered at the scene show it was from a Peugeot 406, circa 1996.
PC Neil Jackson, investigating, said: “The driver collided with the girls after driving through a red light. They then failed to stop at the scene.
“We now believe the car was a Peugeot 406 with a black wing mirror cover. I would appeal to anyone who knows anyone with a vehicle matching that description, especially if it has sustained damage recently to come forward.”
“I would also like to appeal to any retailers who have supplied a wing mirror casing for that model in the last week.”
INFORMATION: Anyone with any information should call PC Jackson on 0345 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
