An investigation has been launched after a man reportedly drove his car at a group of people in St Ives.

The incident occurred in Reynolds Close at about 10am on Saturday (September 24) where, according to police, a man drove his car towards a group of people, injuring a 19-year-old woman in the process.

Officers from Cambridgeshire police and crews from the East of England Ambulance Service attended the scene, along with an emergency response car from Magpas.

According to a spokesman from the ambulance service, the woman was treated at the scene for a suspected head injury before being taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further care. Her injuries are not believed to have been life-threatening.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said that, in the same incident, another man caused damage to the vehicle, "resulting in it having some of its windows smashed".

The spokesman added: "No arrests have been made at this time, however investigations are ongoing."
