Police officers in St Neots will be out in force tackling parking issues in the town centre next week.

Following a number of complaints from members of the public, the St Neots Problem Solving Team will be patrolling the area around the Market Square where parking restrictions are enforced from Monday (February 2). While a force spokesman said that the sanction would be fixed penalty notices, he could not confirm the value of the fines.

Sergeant Kevin Thorne said: “Drivers who park where they are not allowed cause unnecessary obstructions and frustration to other motorists and pedestrians who have to work around them.

“There are designated areas for parking within the town which are clearly marked and I urge motorists to use them.”
