A POLICE helicopter was launched last night (Monday) after concerns were raised over an elderly woman near St Neots.

An emergency call was made at 10.50pm after a member of the public spotted the woman walking in the middle of the road between Great Paxton and Offord Cluny.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “We were obviously concerned about the woman walk in the middle of the road. She said she had lost her dog. She was advised to go inside and go back home for her own safety.”
