More than 1,000 cannabis plants were found at a site in Fenstanton, following a police search last Sunday (October 2).

Officers discovered a haul of 1,081 plants – with an estimated street value of £500,000 - at various stages of cultivation, together with heat lamps and other equipment for growing cannabis.

Police say there were signs of recent occupation at the disused building, in Cambridge Road, but that no arrests have been made so far.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Cambridgeshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
