Cambridgeshire police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to a robbery of around £1,000 in St Neots.

On Friday, October 16 the victim was walking back to his car in Tebbutts Road after withdrawing a large sum of money from the bank when he was approached by a man.

The offender took the envelope containing the cash and the man’s passport and made off on a BMX bike.

The victim attempted to stop the offender and chased him along Huntingdon Street, Cambridge Street and Cambridge Court before losing him.

He managed to get the envelop back but later discovered that around £1,000 and his passport were missing.

Detective Constable Karen Rossi said: “This incident took place in a busy area of St Neots between 4.20pm and 4.50pm and I would urge anyone who may have seen something to come forward with information.”

The offender is described as being white, aged 21 to 40 and approximately 6ft tall riding a BMX bike.

Anyone with information should call DC Karen Rossi on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
