Vandals caused damage to the Christmas tree in the centre of Warboys.

The incident took place between midnight and 3am on Sunday, December 20, near the weir, with vandals understood to have attempted to climb the tree, causing it to snap.

PCSO Gareth Price said: “Offenders have either climbed to the top of the tree or, pulled at the lights that are attached at the top, causing the top eight foot of the tree to snap off damaging both the tree and the lights.

“If you have any information regarding this offence, please contact the police on 101, quoting crime reference number CF0524291215.”
