An elderly woman has been left shaken after a robbery in which she was pulled to the ground by a man and had her handbag snatched in Huntingdon.

The woman, who is in her 80s, was walking in The Walks North at about 5pm on Tuesday when the man grabbed hold of her bag and pulled her over.

She suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Police, who are appealing for information, described the robber as white, six feet tall, in his 20s and wearing a blue long-sleeved top with light-coloured trousers.

After the incident he ran off towards the bus station.

DC Hannah Moore said: “The victim received minor injuries as a result of the incident and is understandably shaken.

“I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and might have seen anything suspicious.”
