Police investigating two attempted burglaries along a stretch of road in Huntingdon are appealing for witnesses.

Between 10pm on May 7 and 8.15am on May 8 offenders attempted to force entry to ground floor side window of a property in Hartford Road.

Using a garden tool taken from the neighbour's garden but police say that those involved didn't enter the house.

The offenders have gone onto damage a car windscreen on the driveway of the property.

PSCO Lee Hurley, Huntingdonshire burglary team, said: "A witness reports that on the day prior to this offence, he saw a suspicious male paying close attention to houses in the street on two occasions."

The man has been described as white, about 5'11 and skinny, straight black hair, about 45 years, t-shirt and jeans and "very casual looking".

In the early hours of May 8, at about 1.20am, another attempted burglary took place, also in Hartford Road.

The offender forced a side ground floor window causing damage to a wooden frame, whilst the victims were at home.

The offender did not enter the house but the victim's security light was also damaged in the process.

Anyone with information or heard any suspicious people or vehicles in the area around the time of any of these offences is asked to the Huntingdonshire Burglary Team on 101.
