Police officers on patrol in Kimbolton managed to prevent a burglary when they came across three masked men attempted to break into a business.

On Thursday July 30 at 1am, officers on patrol in Thrapston Road, saw a blue Audi A4 vehicle reversed against the front doors of a business property with the boot up, three masked males were attempting to enter the property. When the officers approached the vehicle the males made off at speed just missing the police car. Officers tried to follow the Audi but due to its speed the vehicle was lost quickly. Surrounding forces were notified immediately and a search for the vehicle commenced but it was not found.

There was some damage to the doors at the property but no entry had been gained. An investigation is on-going to try to trace the vehicle and offenders.

Inspector Paul Rogerson said, “Huntingdonshire officers conduct a great deal of unseen patrol work over night to keep us safe. Police officers were in the right place at the right time because of information the community share with us. I hope it’s clear to criminals and community alike that our Police teams are on the streets preventing crime”.
