A dance competition welcomed its biggest year to date as more than 300 students took part in the showcase.

Hosted by Stageworks Events, The Huntingdonshire Festival of Dance and Arts at the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre saw an array of colour and talent on display as performers competed to be the best of the best.

The students competed in a range of categories across the three-day event including classical ballet, modern jazz, contemporary and hip hop.

Michael Bays, director of Stageworks Events, said: “The standard of dancing has been fantastic and everyone who competed should be very proud. We’ve also seen some amazing costumes and props over the weekend so a big thank you to all the dance teachers and family members who made the festival such a success.”

The awards were judged by actor Billy Mahoney who trained at Stageworks College and Laine Theatre Arts before going on to perform on cruise liners all around the world.
