Emergency services were called to a petrol station in St Neots on Sunday morning after a man went into cardiac arrest.
The man, said to be in his 40s, was assessed and given advanced life support by medics from the Magpas Air Ambulance team who arrived in rapid response vehicles at about 7.15am.
The patient was then taken by land ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Papworth Hospital for specialist heart care and is said to be in a “stable condition” in hospital.
“As the call for Magpas Air Ambulance’s lifesaving care came in during a handover period between the two teams, both attended to ensure the man received the highest level of care possible,” Magpas said in a statement.
The ambulance service and Cambridgeshire police were also in attendance.
