Owner of cat dumped in wheelie bin says thanks to mystery good samaritan

THE owners of a black cat want to trace the guardian angel who saved him from almost certain death.

Two-year-old Jack was cruelly dumped in a wheelie bin in Huntingdon before the culprit covered him with debris and closed the lid.

The tiny black short-hair was then left for what his owners believe was up to 12 hours before being rescued by a mystery good samaritan.

Jack, who was luckily fitted with an electronic chip, was then taken to Cromwell Vets in Huntingdon where he was checked over and his owners contacted.

“We’re desperate to trace the elderly lady who found Jack and took him to the vets so we can thank her properly,” owner Kelly Willmot, 30, told The Hunts Post.

“The cats are free to come and go as they please during the night.

“They’re always back before breakfast at about 6 o’clock – but that morning Jack didn’t come home.”

The kitten went missing over night on August 6 and Ms Willmott, of Elm Close, Huntingdon, was contacted contacted two days later.

“Both my partner and I are huge cat lovers and can’t believe anyone would do something like this,” she added.

“There are lots of cats going missing in this area recently – you can tell just by looking at Facebook.

“Luckily, because of someone’s kindness, Jack is alive and well but others aren’t so lucky.

“We’d really like the lady who took him to the vets to come forward so we can thank her properly.”
