Staff and pupils at The Round House Pre-School in St Neots are celebrating after a recent Ofsted inspection rated the establishment ‘outstanding’.

The school, based in School Drive, received the top rating in all areas of assessment, including effectiveness of leadership and management and personal development, behaviour and welfare.

The report, written by Melanie Eastwell, said: “The management and staff team demonstrate a very strong commitment to continuing to improve their service for children and their families.

“Continual reflection on practice, results in changes being made that are highly successful in responding to individual children’s needs.”

Sarah Walker, manager, said: “I am so proud of the whole team, we work really well together to get the best outcomes for the children. We are thrilled with the result and with the knowledge that the children who attend the setting are getting an outstanding early start to their education and that this has been recognised by Ofsted.”

The report also noted that children are “highly motivated”, staff are “accomplished in their teaching”, and that parents “speak highly” of the school.

Neil Leitch, chief executive of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, added: “The fact that the pre-school has been recognised as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted is testament to the hard work and commitment of the setting’s staff.

“It is a fantastic achievement, and well-deserved. On behalf of all at the Alliance, I would like to extend sincere congratulations to Sarah and her team.”
