Off-duty cop catches two thieves in Huntingdon after raid on Lloyds Pharmacy

AN off-duty officer arrested two suspected burglars running through Huntingdon on Monday night.

The detective had just finished his shift at the town’s police station at 11.30pm when he spotted two people running across a car park.

He ran after them and arrested a 20-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man on suspicion of burglary.

Lloyds Pharmacy, in Ermine Street, was found to have had a break-in and a number of stolen items were recovered nearby.

The pair have been charged in connection with a burglary. The woman also faces a charge of assault with intent to resist arrest.

Both have been bailed to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on March 29.
