Staff from Newton Primary School are preparing to pound the pavements wearing cowboy hats to raise money for a breast cancer charity.
Organised by the charity Walk the Walk, staff from the Eltisley school will be taking part in the 21st MoonWalk in London, where they will take on the 26.2 mile challenge which starts and finishes at Clapham Common.
Naming themselves the ‘Newton Mooners’ staff will join the 15,000 women and men also taking part the event, being held on May 12.
Alana Brown, head teacher, said: “As a staff team we decided to undertake this challenge and raise some money and awareness of what can be a devastating diagnosis. Our preparation for the Moonwalk has been tough, the challenge we expect to be hard but we are determined to succeed.”
