The bulk of the £18,000 cost of the project came from a lottery grant of £9,000 and £5,000 was donated by the Red Tile Wind Farm Trust, set up to provide community benefits from the nearby wind farm. The rest of the money came from the village.Russell Payne, chairman of the wind farm trust, cut the ribbon to declare the park open, joined by children the community, fundraiser Simon Beeley and Cllr John Ray, chairman of the parish council. Cllr Ray said the land for the play park had been donated by housing provider Luminus. They asked the parish council it would like the land for allotments but we said we would prefer a play park, Cllr Ray said. It has made a really nice play park and it is away from the road so it is safe as well. We are very pleased with it and it has been well used.
