The new president of the Rotary Club of Huntingdon Cromwell has plenty planned for his 12-month term of office.
Nick Abell, who has been a member of the club for five years, took over the post of club president from outgoing Chris Shannon on July 1, and he has lots prepared to keep club members busy in the year ahead.
The club will be continuing its annual Kids Out trips for youngsters, and will also be launching a Rotary Stars awards ceremony to recognise young people who are making a difference.
The club will also be getting involved with the Heart Wise initiative, which will see Huntingdonshire students given lessons in CPR and how to operate defibrillators, and, in partnership with the Woodland Trust, will be planting trees around the district. Mr Abell said: “The theme for the Rotary year is ‘making a difference’ so that can mean lot of different things for us locally but, in essence, we are going to try and make a difference here in Huntingdonshire in the next year.”
