St Neots Town Council has appointed a new town development manager to raise the profile of the town.
Katie Williams, who held the position of town centre manager until 2013, will liaise between businesses, the council and community groups, initially to discover people’s aspirations and plans for the town.
“I have noticed the town is looking more vibrant with an array of new thriving high street businesses as well as the new cinema complex, the beautiful flower displays and the stunning riverside. It is a town to be proud about and I am excited about being back to help raise its profile, both locally and nationally,” she said.
Katie has returned to St Neots after a period of study and sees her role as “an ambassador for the town”.
“I want to provide a channel of information and stimulate dialogue around town issues,” she explained.
“My aim is to provide a focus for initiatives, set objectives and act as a liaison between various groups and then draw it all together.”
Katie is currently reading up on the Neighbourhood Plan, which was implemented at the end of last year, and will be looking at improving the town council’s programme of events, which could include joining up with established events.
“Essentially I want to connect the dots in order to get people working together and raise the profile of all the great and good that takes place in St Neots.”
