The Fusion scheme will be putting on a host of activities for youngsters aged eight to 17 during next weeks February half-term holiday less than nine months after its core funding was axed. In August, the scheme organisers at Huntingdon Youth Centre secured a £10,000 funding deal with Alconbury Airfield developers Urban and Civic and the Hinchingbrooke Foundation for two years, which allowed it to run for the summer. And last year it was awarded a £41,000 grant from Cambridgeshire County Councils transformation fund for a part-time co-ordinator. Advertising the role will begin after this month, to enable a new person to be in post by the summer. Youth development co-ordinator Kerrie Tonks said: The post-holder will be required to work 17 hours a week, although I need someone who would work 35 hours a week during the holidays and 12-and-a-half a week for the rest of the time. The next step will be for the schemes management committee to apply for charitable status. INFORMATION: Fusion runs Monday to Friday from 2-5pm, and Monday to Thursday from 6-8pm.
