Nathan Scotchford, 23, of Daintree Road, Ramsey, pleaded guilty at Peterborough Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday) to causing death without due care and attention while over the prescribed alcohol limit. He was charged with having 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35. Miss Scotchford, 19, of Blenheim Road, Ramsey, was travelling in a red Ford Transit Connect van when it left St Marys Road, Ramsey St Marys, and entered the River Nene at about 4am on July 6. She died later that day. Scotchford was released on unconditional bail and was given an interim driving ban. He will next appear on March 4.
