An “intriguing” silver spoon which has a unique link to Huntingdon and dates back more than 100 years is set to go under the hammer.
The silver and enamel spoon is hallmarked to 1905 and was made in Birmingham but is engraved with the likeness of Hinchingbrooke School.
Chris Elmy, of auctioneers Lockdales, believes the spoon was most likely created as a gift to commemorate an event or long service linked to the Huntingdon school.
The item is set to go under the hammer on April 21 at Lockdales, in Martlesham, near Ipswich.
The auctioneers has put a guide price of £40 to £60 on the spoon.
