The owner of a £1million-winning EuroMillions ticket bought in Huntingdonshire has come forward to claim their prize.

The Hunts Post launched an appeal last week to trace the ticket's owner, which had matched the Millionaire Maker raffle number on the March 14 EuroMillions draw, but had yet to come forward to claim the money.

Camelot UK Lotteries Limited, operator of the National Lottery, confirmed today (Monday) that the prize had now been claimed.

Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at the National Lottery said: "We're delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.

"It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this life-changing amount of money. We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play."

The identity of the owner will remain a mystery, however, as Mr Carter added that the winner had chosen to remain anonymous.
