The museum, in Wood Lane, is housed in renovated 17th century farm buildings and is a charitable trust that is managed and maintained by volunteers. Many of the exhibits, which include farm machinery and vehicles spanning 200 years of rural life, have been donated by members of the public and local companies. People are needed to carry out DIY and general maintenance tasks and help out in the cafe. Trustees and a new chairman are also needed to ensure the museum has an exciting and sustainable future.Volunteer Terry Heslin said: I have volunteered at the Ramsey Rural Museum both as a volunteer and trustee for the past five years and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Volunteering really inspires you to do new things and it is easy to become addicted to it. If you have some free time and are thinking of becoming a volunteer at Ramsey Rural Museum please remember that you will be helping to preserve the heritage of the Fens for future generations. Volunteers are essential for the upkeep and smooth running of the Museum and I would highly recommend it. INFO: Contact 01487 815715 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
