Andrews sister Linda Adley, 45, and his daughter Lesley Bedford, 29, are asking the public to shed light on the disappearance of Andrew in 1990 in Ramsey. Police now believe he was murdered with a shotgun at a business called Mongrel Cars, which no longer exists, and that his body was disposed of nearby. Linda said: I beg you, if anybody knows anything that could lead us to Andrews whereabouts please let the police know. If Andrew is dead, please let us lay him to rest and say our goodbyes properly. Im not interested in bringing anyone to justice, I just need to know what happened and where Andy is. Until there is a body or any kind of remains found, I cannot and will not believe he is dead. Lesley, who was 29 today (Friday) and was four at the time of her fathers disappearance, said: We have not had any contact from him since [his disappearance] and I would like to know what happened, as I was too young to remember him. A team of search officers has been digging in farmland close to the suspected murder site, where a large fire was set on the evening of September 28, 1990, when Andrew was last sighted. Operation Ongar is continuing and police are appealing for fresh information. They are keen to speak to people in the local area, even if they came forward at the time. DS Gordon Blair said: Ramsey is a small place. People must have known what happened, who was involved. Its a chance for people to clear their conscience. Anyone with any information regarding the case should contact the Major Crime Unit on 101 or anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
