AFTER the torch had been taken through St Ives and Huntingdon the torchbearers all returned to Westfield School in St Ives to catch up with relatives and friends.
They were presented with their torches to keep as a souvenir and it was a chance for them to appear on MTV. One of the channel’s presenters, Laura Whitemore, had just finished a leg of the torch relay in Huntingdon and completed her day with a piece for television - surrounded be her fellow, cheering, torchbearers.
