Residents, staff and local people watched as Mr Djanogly performed the ceremony at Churchill Retirement Livings Moorhouse Lodge development in Huntingdon. The lodge, in Edison Bell Way, was also attended by Churchills regional managing director, Greg Hilton, and public affairs director, Simon Cawte. Visitors to the event were also given the opportunity to view the developments show complex, before being treated to a glass of fizz and cakes in the owners lounge. Mr Djanogly said: I was pleased to be asked to open the new Moorhouse Lodge development in my constituency, and it was an honour to cut the ribbon. Retirement properties are a crucial part of helping to unblock the UKs housing crisis and Churchills new development is a significant addition to the housing provision here in Huntingdon. He continued: Specialist retirement housing is proven to have a beneficial effect on older peoples health and wellbeing, be it from being in a modern, warm, well insulated home to having a sense of community which helps to beat loneliness. It was also heartening to meet the new Owners now calling Moorhouse Lodge home and hear so many positive stories from them. Moorhouse Lodge is a collection of 47 one and two bedroom retirement apartments and shared facilities, designed exclusively for the over-60s.
