A MOTHER was freed from her car by firefighters after her car collided with a lorry on the A14 at Godmanchester today (Monday).

The woman, in her 60s, was treated by Magpas whilst firefighters released her from the car after the collision at 9.45am. She was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by helicopter with a serious but not life threatening head injury.

Her daughter, who was also in the car, was not trapped. She was taken to Addenbrooke’s with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have closed the westbound A14 between junction 26, at St Ives, and junction 24, at Godmanchester where the incident occurred. Officers were called to a four-vehicle crash on the slip road.

The Highways Agency expect the road to reopen at 3pm.
