A CAMPAIGN to cut down on careless driving has caught more than 110 motorists in Cambridgeshire in just over a month.

Since the Think scheme came started at the beginning of October, one person was arrested for careless driving, two foreign drivers were fined a total of 600 for diving without due care and 76 motorists will appear in court for driving without due care.

A further 29 fixed penalty notices were issued for not being in proper control and two drivers were given verbal warnings.

PC Steve Gedny, casualty reduction officer, said: “These results show that there are still far too many motorists who think it is acceptable to commit offences when driving.

“Not only are they putting their own lives at risk but also the lives of other drivers. These irresponsible drivers will not only be targeted during our days of action but every day of the year.”
