More than one hundred crates of food and Christmas goodies have been donated to the St Neots Foodbank, thanks to the generosity of shoppers.
A three-day collection event was held at the Tesco store, in St Neots, with more than 40 volunteers from the foodbank helping to collect the food and return it to the warehouse in Eaton Socon. More than 127 crates of food were donated.
“We had a very positive response from the public to our three-day collection at Tesco, both in terms of great conversations about the foodbank and the tremendous generosity of shoppers with the amount of food they put into our trolleys,” said foodbank project manager Adrienne Dunn.
The foodbank is still in need of tinned ham and salmon for their Christmas hampers.
