Missing mum and boy, one, could be in Cambs

A MISSING mother and one-year-old son from Essex could be in Cambridgeshire.

Michelle Kelly, 28, and son Jaden were reported missing on Friday (August 16) when social services and police went to her house in Mellow Purgess Close, Basildon.

Jaden is subject of a care order with parental responsibility award to Essex Social Services. After an unsuccessful appeal, Jaden should have been in care on Friday.

Ms Kelly is white, 5ft 4in tall, of heavy build and shoulder length blonde hair, which may have since been dyed a plum colour, and speaks with a London accent. Jaden is of mixed heritage with curly dark brown hair. It is not known what clothes they were wearing when they went missing.

Superindendent Nick Morris, who is leading the search for Michelle and Jaden, said: “I would ask anyone who sees a mother and young child matching these descriptions who they have not seen in their area before to contact us.

“We are concerned for the welfare of both mother and child and need to find them as soon as possible.”

Supt Morris also had a direct appeal for Michelle. He said: “We know you love Jaden and would not see him come to any harm. I know how difficult this must be for you, however we need to make sure you are both ok. Please call police or your mum and let us know where you are.”

Officers are also concentrating on Scotland, where they are also believed to have fled.
