The Met Office released a yellow warning for heavy rain across the East of England for today (Friday) and Sunday (August 10).
Heavy rain has already caused flooding in parts of Huntingdonshire with more rain to come over the weekend.
Saturday should be dry with sunny intervals before further heavy rain and risks of flooding on Sunday.
A Met Office spokesman said: “There continues to be a great deal of uncertainty in the forecast but the public should be aware of the risk of flooding due to heavy rain as well as very strong winds and large waves, particularly on the southern side of the depression. Given the unseasonable nature of the weather this could be sufficient to disrupt transport and make outdoor activities dangerous.”
Huntingdonshire was hit by flash floods following torrential rain today with reports from Kimbolton, Godmanchester and St Neots
Kimbolton High Street was left 7-8in (18-20cm) underwater at the deepest point which seeped into some shops and businesses.
Michelle Rice told The Hunts Post of flooding along Merton walk in Godmanchester, with further reports in Tudor Road and Cambridge Street.
She said: “It’s up to our front step and with more rainfall it will be in our house.”
Further flooding was also reported on the Bec Road junction near Waitrose in St Neots.
