Five men were remanded in custody by magistrates following a violent incident in Huntingdon in which a man was reportedly attacked.

Police were called at about 3am on Saturday, March 19, to High Street.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “A man in his 30s received serious injuries and was taken to hospital.”

The extent of the man’s injuries are unknown but a cordon was put in place and forensic officers were on scene on Saturday as an investigation took place.

Five men were subsequently arrested and charged by police and appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on March 21.

All five were remanded by magistrates to appear at Peterborough Crown Court on April 18 for a plea and case management hearing.

Those charged are:

Daniel Lupu, 20, from Stukeley Road, Huntingdon was charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Alin Grecu, 26, address unknown, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Cosmin Palade, 29, from Stukeley Road, Huntingdon, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Daniel Bordeianu, 33, from Stukeley Road, Huntingdon, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Alexandru Petrescu, 21, from Stukeley Road, Huntingdon, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.
