Godmanchester residents turned out in their droves at the weekend to support a car boot sale held to raise funds for the mayor’s charities.
The sale was held on Judith’s Field and was well supported, with town councillors donning their luminous tabards to help marshal the event.
The town’s Girl Guide leaders laid on refreshments to raise funds for a new storage unit for the group as the garage currently used is no longer watertight.
Town mayor, Councillor Sarah Conboy, said: “It was great to see the community supporting this fundraiser. Not only has it helped grow the funds that will go to children and young people in the town but it’s also helped our Guides get closer to their target of raising enough money to buy a much-needed new storage unit for their camping equipment.
“Of course, we can’t do events like this without help and it was great to have my fellow councillors on hand to marshal.”
