Cllr Underwood was joined by his wife, Wendy, for the feat, which took a week to complete and saw them follow the Zero Meridian Line from Godmanchester down to the Royal Observatory, in Greenwich. Along the way, the duo passed through Hardwick, Buntingford, Ware, and Waltham Abbey. They were greeted in Greenwich by the deputy mayor, Cllr Olu Babatola. So far, and with donations still coming in, the couple have raised £800 for charities SSAFA, The Richmond Fellowship, and Hunts Community Cancer Care. Cllr Underwood said We had a great send-off from Godmanchester, walked the walk and arrived to the warmest of welcomes in Greenwich. We feel a real sense of achievement and we have discovered the generosity of the people of Godmanchester and the hospitality of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
