MOTORISTS are facing travel chaos as a electricity pylon on fire has forced police to close a vital link road.

Officers called in help from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service just after 3.30pm as a pylon in Mill Road, Buckden, had caught alight.

The road was closed between Leaden’s Lane and Station Lane.

A spokesman for the fire service said the pylon was at imminent risk of collapse and firefighters were letting the fire burn itself out for safety.
