A man who was killed after being struck by a train at St Neots station has been named.

Alexander Davies, 22, of Murrell Court in the town was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday evening (June 9). His cause of death has provisionally been given as multiple traumatic injuries.

An inquest was opened and adjourned by assistant coroner Dr Sam Bass until October 16.

The East of England Ambulance Service were called at 8.32pm, and sent an ambulance, an ambulance officer and an air ambulance crew in a rapid response vehicle.

British Transport Police confirmed that they attended alongside officers from Cambridgeshire Police, and that the incident is being treated as non-suspicious.
