A MAN is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after the car he was driving collided with a tree in Somersham. The 18-year-old was travelling towards Chatteris in a Ford Fiesta that left the B1050 Chatteris Road at 4.30pm on Monday (September 27). A Magpas Helimedix team attended the scene and the road was closed off while the driver was freed from the vehicle. He was then taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge with a serious head injury and remains in a critical condition. The road was re-opened just after 8pm. PC Martin Arrowsmith, investigating, would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the vehicle just prior.
